A beautiful wooded area with a great children’s play area and lovely walks through the trees, set on the shore of the Firth of Forth on the outskirts of the lovely village of Dirleton. This can be accessed either by car or by walking along the beach from North Berwick.
North Berwick Beach
Two minutes from the High Street, it also has an outdoor pool next to the Seabird Centre.
This a beautiful, private bay beach with parking available - just £2.00 for entrance. It is located on the main route from North Berwick heading for the A1 south. You can find it on a sharp bend just after Tantallon Castle.
Tynninghame beach, close to East Linton
Situated on same road as Seacliff, drive further along just outside Tynninghame village, turning on the left as you head for the A1. Drive about 2 miles, following the estate wall and past the signs for Tynninghame Sawmill where you will find a free car park. Take a right at the car park on foot and walk for 10 minutes where you will see a gate on the left that takes you through a forest for 10 minutes and then it’s beach as far as the eye can see. It’s a hidden gem. This is one I only share with friends.......it is never too busy... so don't tell too many people!!
John Muir Park, Dunbar
This a great play park located next to East Links Family Park just as you enter Dunbar. It has a large climbing frame, a flying fox and all the usual big outdoor park equipment. It has lots of room and seating for a BBQ, and a large free car park. It is also located next to John Muir Beach, which is made up of crossing flat sand dunes and leads to another stunning beach as long as the eye can see.
