Luffness Castle Cottage began life as the gardener's residence for Luffness and is now a charming three-bedroom retreat on the edge of Aberlady Bay, home to a nature reserve and some of the finest waterfront views on this coastline. The conservation villages of Aberlady and Gullane are close by, at the heart of Scotland's renowned Golf Coast and its world-class links courses.
The open-plan living, dining and kitchen space is full of warmth and character, with authentic wooden beams, an open fire, a cosy log-burning stove and original features throughout. The bright kitchen includes a dishwasher and coffee machine, and fibre broadband keeps you connected. All three double bedrooms are generously sized with spacious wardrobes, the first with its own en-suite shower, supported by a modern walk-in shower room and a fully tiled family bathroom.
Outside, a spacious garden invites alfresco dining, with a summerhouse made for slowing down and savouring the setting. There is a garage plus plentiful parking within the grounds, and up to two well-behaved dogs are welcome.
“Location, location, location The cottage sits in the most beautiful grounds which our dogs enjoyed exploring. We visited the Dovecot, Friary and Water Tower. There were amazing trees with colourful autumn leaves. As we were there just the weekend we didn't get to walk down to the nature reserve but discovered the route to it beyond the horses' field. We were a family of six so we had the cottage set up with a double bed and 4 singles. There appeared to be a couple of foldup beds for children available. We had the open fire on both evenings although that was mainly for atmosphere as there were heaters in all the rooms.”
