Description

The Old Coastguard Lookout is a pet-friendly detached upside-down cottage in the picturesque hamlet of Cove, and boasts panoramic sea views, a hot tub, and a private garden.

Cosy and comfortable throughout, it sleeps four in two double bedrooms, one with an ensuite bathroom. Upstairs the kitchen and living room enjoy superb open vistas of the coast. From here you can access the two large balconies, or enjoy a winter evening in front of the wood-burning stove.

Cove Harbour has historically been the scene of much smuggling. Indeed, the Coastguard Lookout is said to have built in its location to catch the smugglers at work! The beautiful harbour is just a 5-minute walk away.

The property offers stunning sea views across the North Sea and the coastal cliffs taking in Bass Rock, the Isle of May, the Fife coastline, Fast Castle, and Siccar Point, the birthplace of geology (please note that views to the north include Torness Nuclear Power Station).

The views from the living room and kitchen, the main bedroom, the private garden, the hot tub, and its two large balconies will enchant you, no matter what the season.

Sit back, relax and unwind in the eco-friendly cedarwood hot tub in your private garden - enjoy the sea views, watch birds on the wing, listen to the ocean’s roar and feel the wind on your cheeks. The garden is enclosed, so pets are welcome to enjoy the security of this space too.

The former Boathouse makes a light and spacious double bedroom with amazing views. Situated on the ground floor, it boasts an ensuite shower room. The second double bedroom is bright, airy, and enjoys the morning sun. There is also a 2nd shower room.

A delightful spiral staircase leads you to the first-floor kitchen, dining, and living areas. The kitchen is fully fitted and the living room comfortably furnished, including a wood-burning stove.

A 30-minute walk along the coastal bluffs or a 2-minute drive brings you to the nearest restaurant at Pease Bay, an expansive sandy beach also worth exploring. The town of Dunbar is only 10 minutes drive away, with all services including trains direct to Edinburgh's Waverley Station.

Please note: children older than 10 years are welcome.
